From Technology to Practice: AI Shaping the Future of Aquaculture at VietShrimp Asia & Aquaculture Vietnam 2026

Under the theme “Smart Aquaculture – AI Revolution in Aquaculture Industry”, this year’s exhibition spotlighted digital transformation and the application of advanced technologies to elevate the aquaculture value chain.

VietShrimp Asia & Aquaculture Vietnam 2026 welcomed 7,772 attendees and brought together 150 brands from 47 countries and territories, reinforcing its position as a leading international aquaculture exhibition and a key connector of the global industry.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Country General Manager of Informa Markets Vietnam emphasised:

“Aquaculture Vietnam and VietShrimp Asia are not just exhibitions, but part of a long-term journey to connect the aquaculture industry, linking international innovation with local practice, and regional markets with on-the-ground realities.”

The event reaffirmed that VietShrimp Asia & Aquaculture Vietnam is not merely a trade exhibition, but a long-term platform connecting the entire aquaculture ecosystem. Beyond bringing together businesses, technologies, and advanced solutions, it plays a vital role in fostering partnerships, driving innovation, and shaping a more sustainable future for the industry.

In 2026, the exhibition recorded a significant surge in international participation, with a 228% increase in international visitors compared to the 2025 edition. International media accounted for 80% of total media presence, further amplifying the visibility of Vietnam’s aquaculture industry on the global stage.

The event also welcomed multiple international delegations, with representatives, businesses, and industry experts from across the region, including Cambodia, the Philippines, India, and South Korea, attending to explore emerging trends, advanced technologies, and potential collaboration opportunities within the aquaculture sector.

The bus-in programme was another highlight, supporting 1.713 group visit from the Mekong Delta to attend the exhibition. This initiative underscores a continued long-term commitment to inclusivity development, enabling key aquaculture communities to directly access new technologies, connect with industry players, and strengthen their production capabilities.

Sharing the same perspective, Mr. Le Viet Binh – Deputy Chief of Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, expressed his expectations:

“I believe that the exhibition will be elevated in scale, professionalism, and international reach, thereby creating more opportunities for connection, collaboration, and technology transfer for Vietnam’s aquaculture industry.”

With a diverse showcase, the exhibition offered a comprehensive view of the industry’s value chain, from advanced farming technologies and nutrition solutions to disease management, environmental treatment, and supporting services including logistics. Beyond product display, it served as a dynamic platform for businesses to connect with partners, exchange expertise, and stay updated on emerging trends, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and overall competitiveness.

From Insight to Impact: Advancing Industry Knowledge at VietShrimp & Aquaculture Vietnam

Notably, the international aquaculture conference series held alongside the exhibition emerged as a key professional highlight, featuring four main sessions and over 50 conference sessions organised across three days, bringing together leading experts, scientists, and industry representatives from both Vietnam and abroad. Discussions focused on critical topics such as advanced technologies, digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), disease management, and sustainable development. Beyond knowledge sharing, the conference series provided an open dialogue platform for stakeholders to exchange insights, share practical experiences, and propose solutions to current industry challenges.

In parallel, technical seminars effectively complemented the exhibition activities, enabling businesses to gain deeper insights into specialized knowledge and market trends. This, in turn, provided a solid foundation for companies to develop appropriate strategies and enhance their long-term growth and competitiveness.
